Basic Police Academy

This 695 hour program prepares you for an entry-level police officer position with hands-on and classroom training.  Upon successful completion, a graduate can be eligible for positions in local police departments, county sheriff’s offices, state facilities and other locations.  Course includes instruction in administration, legal responsibilities, human relations, firearms, defensive driving patrol techniques, civil disorder, investigation, traffic control and physical conditioning.  Weekend training is required.

Students will need to complete the Basic Police Academy Application and Apollo Applications.  There is a $100.00 non-refundable application fee  due when students turn in their application and forms.

Tuition $ 3,800 + required supplies and application fee.

  • Uniform Shirts (2)
  • Uniform Pants (2)
  • Serviceable Pistol  (9MM, 40 S&W, 45 ACP)
  • Gun Belt, Holster, Mag Pouches, Handcuff Case and Belt Keepers
  • Straight Baton and Holster
  • Black Shoes or Boots
  • Ammunition (1000 Rounds Handgun)
  • Ammunition (40 Rounds of Buck and 25 Rounds of Shot Shotgun)
  • Push Button Flashlight
  • Handcuffs

*Physical Examination- Can be performed by your own family physician.  Completion of specific form is required.

*Program funding is available through GI Bill, potential scholarships and payment plans.

                     Should you wish to enroll at this time, you will fill out additional required enrollment forms, and the manager will schedule you for the entrance test, which is required for all Full Time students.
